Hello and welcome to my very own blog, named Sportlight (yes, there's a pun in there somewhere), where the spotlight shines on four sports in particular. Having had a longstanding passion for Football, Cricket, Baseball and American Football, I thought it would be a sensible idea to combine that with my enthusiasm for writing. At 21 years of age, and having recently graduated from University, I currently find myself writing for the relatively small, yet undoubtedly pivotal and tremendous local football club; Whitehawk. A club that cares so much for its community, I implore you to visit its quaint terraces one day. With the world in the way it is, let us just be thankful for the sheer magnitude of sport that continues to bombard our televisions, giving aspiring journalists like myself the opportunity to write about the things that millions adore. Below is a photo of the legendary Anfield stadium that I took a couple of years ago. Marvel at not just the arena itself, but the thousands inside worshipping their beloved football club. It seems a world away and I, like so many, will never take live sport for granted. Sport is a beautiful thing. It creates friendships, it creates drama, but more importantly, it shapes ourselves.
